Monolith Planter - No. 1

Regular price £50.00
Tax included.

A study in weight and suspension. Drawing from the monumentality of Brutalist architecture, each planter begins as a substantial body of stoneware before being carved back by hand using the Japanese kurinuki technique. Cuts made directly into the clay reveal an irregular landscape of ridges and planes, giving the solidity of the form a more instinctive, human edge.

The exterior remains unglazed to preserve the raw clay and every trace of the knife, while the interior is glazed for use as a planter. A slender metal stand lifts the ceramic mass from the ground, creating an intentional contrast between monumentality and lightness. Heavy yet seemingly suspended, the planter appears almost to levitate above its frame.

Hand-built stoneware finished with glaze. Suitable for use with water. Maintain with a soft, dry cloth.
